Christmas Tags with Aztec Paints

Hello Colourcraft friends.  Gail here today.
Christmas approaches apace and I am making some last minute tags for my pressies.

Aren't they pretty!!!

I started by painting some card with Gold and Copper Aztec paint.  In the end I only used the copper.  While I was waiting for the paint to dry I also painted some card with Blue Aztec paint.

I used a selection of Christmassy dies to cut the copper card

Used dies to cut the blue card into tags.

Words and stars.  The copper looks so lovely against the blue.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope you like my ideas for some quick but lovely last minute tags.  Would look great as cards as well me thinks.  Hugz

Finding your Mojo with Suzi

Good Day All, Today it's my pleasure to share my latest project with you.  I have to admit my crafting mojo has been absent recently, so I had to find a way to give it a jump start, not always the easiest thing to do, but here's how I did it.

Our theme this month is 'Paint, Paint, Paint', so the first thing I did was grab some Eco Acrylic Paints to play with, I chose Turquoise, Magenta, Leaf Green and Cadmium Yellow.  Did you know that the Eco Acrylic Paint are mixable, so you can create some amazing colours I mixed the Leaf Green and Cadmium Yellow to create a lovely Lime Green for my project.

I then took 2 Index Cards and 2 tags that I'd already primed with some White Gesso.  I grabbed my paints and started to add some to my cards using my fingers.

Next I added some stamping using a selection of stamps from my stash.

I then decided I wanted to add some texture to my project, so I took Natural ExpandIt Paste and mixed it with some Turquoise Eco Acrylic Paint, and applied it to my cards with a syringe.  I left it to dry for a little while before heat setting with my heat gun.  I took some Gold Metallic Acrylic Paint and added that to areas on my cards this time with a brush.

Looking at my cards I decided they needed some more contrast, so I mixed up some Prussian Blue and Payne's Grey Eco Acrylic Paint and used that to add some dark areas to my cards. I also added more Gold Metallic Paint.

To embellish my cards I added some coloured jute ribbon, staples and gems.  Here's my finished cards;

Creating these cards really did give my mojo a kick start, just playing with colours and textures was great fun.  I love how well the Eco Acrylic Paints mix together, it's a lot of fun to see what new colours you can create, just doing that really got my mojo going.  I love the mix of Prussian Blue and Payne's Grey and can't wait to see what that looks like with some other colour combinations.

I hope you've enjoyed see how I created these cards and tags.  We'd love to see what you've created using ColourCraft products; Have you joined the Create with ColourCraft Facebook Group yet? That's all from me for today, Hope your crafting mojo is strong
Bye for now

Dragonfly Tag

I love to have a stash of tags available to give for birthdays or to send to friends with a meaningful sentiment on them.
I also love dragonflies, so this week, I have teamed them up together and created this tag for you. I hope you enjoy!

I started by applying some crackle paste randomly through a stencil with a plastic palette knife. Depending on  how thickly you apply the paste, it can take anywhere from between half an hour to a couple of hours to dry and crackle nicely.  I left this one overnight.

I then spritzed the card with water and sprinkled some sea green brusho powder over it.  I spritzed it with more water to ensure that it covered the tag well.

I then applied distress oxides through a stencil with my blending sponges.  Here I used the colour 'frayed burlap'.

I selected a different stencil and applied 'lucky clover' distress ink over the top of the previous stenciling to give extra depth.

I stamped my favourite dragonfly stamp using versafine onyx black and blended a little of the 'frayed burlap' distress ink around the edges to bring the design together.  I snipped the sides at the top of the tag and made a hole in the centre at the top through which I tied two co-ordinating ribbons.

Voila!
I hope you enoyed this little tutorial and I hope that you will make some too.

Cute, layered gift tags with Ewelina

You know that awkward time when it turns out you have forgotten about someone's birthday or when you need to say a last minute 'thank you' but a bottle of wine is all you have and seems slightly impersonal to give it without a card? I'm the queen of such situations - I'm so rubbish at remembering these things!!! So I decided to be prepared this time and make some super cute, all-occasion gift tags.

I wanted to stamp ombre designs on the canvas tags - that was the plan... the rest just kind of happened...

I used purple and Violet orchid Opaque fabric paints which I dabbed onto the stamp and then transferred it onto the tags.

I added metal studs to reinforce the holes in the tags... Now, it was time to start improvising.

I picked Little Birdie Crafts flowers and Chipboards and a variety of Kraft tags from Canvas Corp.
After assembling little compositions on the canvas tags (and making sure that the stamped design was still visible), I layered the tags over one another and... voila!

It might be cheating a bit but now I have some emergency gift tags.. you know, just in case...

See you next time!!!
