Mixed Media Artist Trading Coins with Suzi

Good Day All, Today I'd like to share with you some Mixed Media Artist Trading Coins I've created; I've combined some Gelli printed background papers that I created for a previous project with some really cute rubber stamped images that I've coloured with Acrylic Inks and Koh-I-Noor PolyColor Coloured Pencils.

Here's a look at my finished ATCoins;

Now here's how I made them;  First of all I chose a couple of the Background Papers I'd created with my Gelli Plate for my previous project, I used Eco Acrylic Paints for all of these papers.

Then using a 2 1/2 inch circle punch, I punched out some circles for my ATCoin Bases.

Next I stamped out some images that would fit nicely onto the ATCoins.

I then went back to working on my backgrounds, I cut some of the circles I'd punched into halves, as I wanted to create a scene behind my characters, so I wanted it to look like a floor and wall.  I also used a Sun die cut I had left over from my previous project and added that to a couple of the bases.

Next I added some stamping to some of the backgrounds before adding shading with a Koh-I-Noor Progresso Aquarelle Pencil.

I then coloured some of my images using Acrylic Ink and Koh-I-Noor Polycolor Coloured Pencils.  Once coloured I fussy cut my images ready to go onto my ATCoins.

I then glued my character to the ATCoin Background I'd created.

To finish my ATCoins I added a little more shading with the Koh-I-Noor Progresso Aquarelle Pencil, mainly around the characters, but also a little more around the edges.  

Here's a closer look at each of the ATCoins I created.

I had great fun creating these ATCoins, I love the cute wee characters and the lovely grungy backgrounds.  I also love the contrast between the Acrylic Ink and the Coloured Pencils.  As you can see you can get lots of creations out of one Gelli Printing Session, I've still got quite a few prints left over that I can use on future projects.

Valentine ATCoins

Hi Everyone,

Hope you are all having a great start to your weekend!

My project today is Artist Trading Coins.   I used some jelly plate background papers made using Colourcraft Acrylic ink, and I also used some lutradur and Acrylic Spray mists.

Step 1

Take a blank ATCoin and your Gelli plate printed background papers and using some tombow stick adhesive glue your disc to your paper.

 

Step 2

I took a script stamp and some Neon Red Hero Arts Ink Cube and stamped over the top of the Gelli printed paper.

Using the same ink cube, I ran this around the outside edge of each ATCoin.

Step 4

Take some lutradur and skim a very thin layer of expandit over the top and dry with a heat tool until it expands and dries, once dry spray with brusho acrylic spray mists, dry with your heat tool and die cut a heart shape.

Step 5

Time to embellish!.. I used some cotton ribbon, pink lace trim, wooden hearts, epoxy hearts

Winter Night - Artist Trading Coins by Susanne

Hi there!

It's Susanne writing today and I have to share a set of Artist Trading Coins today.

For the snow on the bottom I used the ColourCraft ExpandIt Paste! It's such a fun medium especially to create winter scenes. The background is coloured with Brushos of course. I have a video tutorial for you! Enjoy!

Mixed Media Artist Trading Coins by Susanne

Hello my dear crafty friends.

Today I have to share my first Artist Trading Coins with you. Making ATCoins has become a new trend in the crafty world and I think it's really fun. The circles' diameter is 2.5 inches.

If  you don't know what to do with them instead of trading I give you some ideas: they are nice to add onto gift tags, you can also use them as a card topper or add them to your art journal pages! However, my favourite way to use them is to make magnets for the fridge out of them!
