We're All Mad Here Journal Page with Suzi

Good Day All, Today I'd like to share with you an Art Journal Page I've created featuring Brusho Crystal Colour Powders, Koh-I-Noor Polycolour Pencils and some wonderful stamps.

The first thing I did was to take a page out of my A4 Art Journal, then using the Bubble Wrap Texture stamp from Crafty Roo Designs along with clear ink and white embossing powder I add texture to the top and bottom of my page.

Next it was time to add some colour to my page,  so I sprinkled the following colours of Brusho Crystal Colour Powders across the page in strips starting at the top with Ultramarine, Turquoise, Sea Green and finally Leaf Green at the bottom.

Once dry I used the Sketch Lines Texture stamp from Crafty Roo Designs and Green Permanent Ink to add lots of lines to the bottom of the page to give the impression of grass.

I then added Sketch Lines in Blue Permanent Ink to the top of the page to enhance the sky.

The Next step was to stamp my flowers to create my garden, I used a selection of Funky Flower stamps from Crafty Roo Designs.

To colour my flowers I created patterned papers with Brushos in shades of Blue, Purple and Orange, I then stamped my flowers onto them and cut them out ready to layer onto my journal page.

To colour the leaves I created a patterned paper with Brushos in shades of Green, stamped the leaves and then cut them out.

Before sticking the flowers and leaves down I decided to add some more texture behind them using the Cluster Texture stamp from Crafty Roo Designs.  Once I'd stuck the flowers and leaves down I added Blue inks to define the stems and flowers and edged the page with the same ink.

I then added shading to the flowers and leaves with Koh-I-Noor Polycolor Pencils.

.I then decided to add some extra elements to my page, namely some Butterflies from Crafty Roo Designs, and Anya, Ian and Cat stamps from The Greeting Farm.

To finish the page I stamped my sentiment onto some leftover papers, cut the words out and edged with blue ink before sticking them to the page.  For final details I used a white pen to add highlights.

Here's a few closeups to show the details;

I had great fun creating this page, I love Alice in Wonderland and it's quite a while since I created anything inspired by it.  I love how the little characters make the flowers look really big and magical.
We are living in crazy times at the moment, so it's good to believe in a fantasy world were everything is beautiful and magical.  Hopefully our world will stop being quite so crazy soon, but in the meantime, lets all stay safe and look after each other.

Thanks for visiting with us today,

Mixed Media BookMarks and ATCs with Suzi

Good Day All, Today I'd like to share with you some fun Bookmarks and ATCs I've creating using Brusho Crystal Colour Powders, Koh-I-Noor Polycolor Pencils and some lovely stamps from Crafty Roo Designs.

Here's what I came up with;

Here's how I created them;

I'd previously created a sheet of Background Paper using Brusho Crystal Colour Powders in Gamboge, Sea Green and Alizarin Crimson, I had enough left to create my Bookmarks and ATCs.

For my project I've used the following stamps from Crafty Roo Designs; Chirp, Ewe and Bible Journaling set 1

I cut my backgrounds to size, then punched some 2 1/2 inch circle out of white card stock and stamped my focal images onto them.

As you can see, I stamped onto one of the bookmark backgrounds creating a nice repeat pattern.

For the second ATC I decided to use the Ewe stamp, coloured with Brusho Crystal Colour Powders in Gamboge and Alizarin Crimson.  I painted water onto the areas I wanted coloured, sprinkled my Brushos and left to dry.

I painted all of my focal images with Brusho Crystal Colour Powders and left them to dry.  I also added a little blue and purple to my ATC backgrounds using the leftover Brushos I had on my glass mat.

Once dry I added my elements to the Bookmarks and ATCs and adding some final colouring and shading with my Koh-I-Noor Polycolor Pencils.   I used a Black Fineliner  and White Pen to add thin borders to my projects.

  Here's the finished results in detail;

I love how vibrant the colours are, that's one of the joys of Brusho Crystal Colour Powders they are pure pigment, so you can get really intense colour; add lots of water and you get really subtle colours too, so versatile and fun.

I hope you'll agree that the background papers were far too pretty to go into the bin, and made wonderful bases for these cute projects.

That's all from me for today,
Happy Crafting and Stay Safe

Sparkle and Shine Index Cards with Suzi

Good Day All, Today it's my pleasure to share with you my latest creations using some of the wonderful products from the ColourCraft Store.  I've created a set of 3 Index Cards using Brusho Crystal Colour Powders, Metallic Acrylic Paints, Eco Acrylic Paints and Koh-I-Noor Polycolor Coloured Pencils.

Our theme this month is 'Chill in the Air' so I chose a colour palette of shades of blue and silver.

The first thing I did was take some Watercolour Card and cut it down to 6 x 4 inchs to use as my Index Cards.  I then sprinkled on some Brusho Crystal Colour Powders in Prussian Blue and Turquoise, activated them with a few sprays of water.

Next I added some stencilling using Eco Acrylic Paint in White and a mix of Prussian Blue and Payne's Grey.

I then added another layer of stencilling to create more depth.

Next I created my focal images, which are Stars hand cut from watercolour card.  I added a splashes of Eco Acrylic Paint in the Prussian Blue/Payne's Grey mix, then once that was dry I added a few coats of Silver Metallic Acrylic Paint.

I then decided to add a little of the Metallic Silver Acrylic Paint to my Index Card backgrounds, I mixed it with a little water.

I wanted to add a little bit of extra texture to my cards, so I took some blue metallic threads and pale blue netting and added it my index cards behind the silver stars.

To finish my Index Cards I added a sentiment sticker to each card and outline them with a Dark Blue Koh-I-Noor Polycolor Coloured Pencil.

Here's my finished cards;

Here's a close up from the side to show the wonderful sparkle from metallic paint.

I had great fun creating these Index Cards. I love the Eco Acrylic Paints they are so highly pigmented and mix beautifully together. The Metallic Acrylic Paints are gorgeous too, and have so much shimmer to them, they add a lovely contrast to Matt finish of the Eco Acrylic Paints.

That's all from me today, I do hope you've enjoyed seeing how I created my projects.

Autumnal Index Cards with Suzi

Good Day All, Today I'd like to share with you my latest Altered Index Cards.  I've used lots of Brusho Crystal Colour Powders, SprinkleIt, Metallic Acrylic Paint and Coloured Pencils to create my Index Cards.

Here's my Index Cards;

Here's how I created them;

First of all I created the backgrounds on my Index Cards.  I took four Index Cards and gave them a coat of white gesso before applying Brusho Crystal Colour Powders in Gamboge, Burnt Sienna, Olive Green, Yellow Ochre and Orange. I also applied some Copper SprinkleIt for a bit of sparkle.

Next I took some old book pages and my Brusho Crystal Colour Powders and created papers for me to use for my die cut leaves.

Here's a selection of the papers I created;

Here's a selection of the leaves I created, using Funky Foliage Dies;

The next step was to sketch out the faces on my Index Cards;

As you can see I also added some tree shapes to my cards.

I then added more details using the Koh-I-Noor PolyColour Coloured Pencils.

I then took my die cut leaves and arranged them to give the impression of hair.  I also added some to the base of my trees.

If you look closely you can see I added some Copper Foil to some of my leaves for a little extra shine.

To finish my Index Cards I trimmed off the over hanging leaves and added a boarder of Copper Metallic Acrylic Paint around the edge of the cards. I also added some of the Copper Metallic Paint to the cheeks of the Face in Profile.

I'm really pleased with how these turned out, when I was creating the backgrounds I didn't really know what the next stage would be, but the Brusho Crystal Colour Powders created there own patterns and in those patterns I saw the start of the faces.  I love how unpredictable the Brusho Powders are, you always get a surprise when you use them.

I hope you've enjoyed seeing how I created my Index Cards. I had great fun creating them.

MDF Sun Plaque with Suzi

Good Day All, Today it is my pleasure to share with you my latest project featuring lots of wonderful products from the ColourCraft Range.  I've created my project using ExpandIt and Eco Acrylic Paints.

I've created a Sun Plaque;
Doesn't that texture look amazing, here's how I created it;

First of all I took a MDF Driftwood shaped plaque and drew a face and some hair shapes onto it.  I then added Eco Acrylic Paint in Yellow to the whole plaque followed by Cadmiun Yellow Hue Dark to give an indication of where my shadows where to go, along with some Titanium White for the Eyes.  Then using a spatula I added my first coat of ExpandIt.

Using a syringe I added ExpandIt for the Eyebrows, Nose and Lips before heating it all with my heat gun.

I then added a coat of Yellow Eco Acrylic Paint over the whole plaque.

I then left it overnight, whilst I decided what to do next.

I decided the hair needed some texture so I added some lines of ExpandIt with the syringe to give some definition to the sections of hair.  I also added more ExpandIt to the tip of the Nose for more dimension.  Once I'd heat set the ExpandIt and it had cooled down I started to add more colour using Eco Acrylic Paints in Yellow, Cadmium Yellow Hue Dark and Yellow Ochre.

I then added some shadows and details with Raw Umber. I also added more Yellow Ochre and Yellow in places.
At this point I decided I needed to add some shades of Orange and Vermillion, to add more warmth and improve the transition of colours.

I was much happier with the colour palette now, and added some more layers of paint where I felt it needed it.

Then it was time to work on the details, using paint pens and Koh-I-Noor Polycolor Pencils I added details into the hair and eyes.

My plaque was almost finished now, I added a little more detail to the eyes with the Koh-I-Noor Polycolor Pencils and a White Gel Pen.

Here's some close ups of the wonderful colours and texture;

As you can see the ExpandIt gives lots of wonderful texture, and by adding a second layer to the nose I really managed to give it some dimension.

I hope you've enjoyed seeing how I created my project.  If you've not got any ExpandIt yet I really recommend you get some, it comes in Natural and Black and you can use it with so many different tools and techniques, I used a palette knife and syringe on this project, but you can also use your fingers, or a brush. It goes through stencils beautifully and works on so many surfaces. It's wonderful stuff, You'll definitely be seeing more projects from me using it.

That's all from me for today, Thank you for taking the time to visit with us.
