Blue Christmas by Sarah

Hi Everyone,

Sarah here with you today on the blog with a wooden Christmas tree that I altered with a steampunk style.

I used a plain wooden christmas tree on a stand and applied some soft form texture paste through a doily stencil to add some texture and allowed to dry.

I then took some bits n bobs from a tub I have that is filled with broken beads, nuts, bolts watch pieces and gears and glued them down with matte medium onto the surface of the tree.

Allowing time for everything to dry completely, the entire tree was covered with a layer of white gesso

The next step was to add some colour, and I decided to use a little bit of Aztec Metallic Lustre Paint in aquamarine and also the fabulous Brusho Acrylic Spray Mists in the colours Turquoise, Charcoal and Sea Green, drying with a heat tool in between sprays..

Once completely dry I dry brushed white gesso over top of the whole tree, completing the project

I hope you enjoyed this week's project and I shall see you all soon with more fun projects using Colourcraft Products :)
