Printing on cushion covers

The orange cushion is no more!!!
Do you remember last time I did some printing on a cushion cover?

This was the outcome - a gorgeous black and white canvas cushion right next to a fluffy orange disaster... ugh! I disliked the orange monster from the moment it landed on my sofa (yes, the buyer is aware) and it gave me great pleasure replacing it with my new black and white one.

This looks so much better!

The process is extremely simple as all you need is a canvas cushion cover, a stamp of your choice (I love ArtFoamies for this type of printing) and Opaque Fabric paint.

I started from the centre and worked my way out - the middle is double stamped.

Then I followed the pattern by stamping the squares outwards.

And then finished the whole area stamping out the edges.

As you can see the process is extremely simple and easy but the outcome is awesome.
You can use different colours to create a more rainbow-y effect but my home is predominantly grey so black and white is what my decor is.

See you next time!

Stamped Out Cushion Cover with Ewelina

Hey everyone!
It's almost mid-January and for some reason, it feels like my home decor needed some fresh touches...

Spare half an hour gave me an idea - stamped out cushion!!!

I prepped canvas cushion cover, ARtFoamies and Opaques Fabric Paint (in black an grey because that's my main home decor colours)

I inserted a piece of cardboard into the cover to make it a softer stamping base.

As I wanted to make the design 'fading' and grungy, I used black paint to stamp out the first line.

Just place the ArtFoamie block on the bottom of the cushion and then move along horizontally to create a line.

For the next line, I added some grey to the mix.

And then even more grey, with the final top line stamped out only in grey.

It looks pretty cool and slightly grungy - just how I like it!

It's a quick and easy way to add new decor to your sofa. I love it on mine!!!

See you next time!

Follow Your Dreams Hoop Art with Suzi

Good Day All, It's my pleasure to be here again to share my latest creation with you featuring some lovely ColourCraft products.  After doing a little sewing on my Inspiring Love Canvas I've been bitten by the sewing bug.  So for my project today I've created a piece of Hoop Art using Fabric paints to stamp onto some cotton before adding some details with hand sewing along with a few buttons.

I took a piece of cotton fabric and cut it to slightly larger than my embroidery hoop.  I then used a mix of opaque fabric paints and metallic fabric paints to stamps some patterns in my background ( stamps used, Dripping paint, Cracked Background and Dotties from Crafty Roo Designs).  I then used the Gold Metallic Fabric Paint to stamp Stars using the Star Poly Plate from Crafty Roo Designs.

I then added some embroidery around the stars using thin gold metallic thread.  I also added some wooden flower buttons from my stash.  To finish the project I used some Fuchsia/Magenta Foil to the Hoop and Wooden Buttons using my Mini Iron Tool. I also added some Ribbon to form a hanger for the Hoop which I secured with a Wooden Button.

To secure the fabric to the hoop I used hot glue, making sure to add the glue to the wooden frame rather than the fabric, so that it wouldn't show through on the front.

This is the first piece of Hoop Art I've created, and I'll definitely be creating more.  I really enjoyed the fabric painting too, and combining it with the embroidery gives such a lovely finish, it's something I definitely want to experiement with more.  You can find lots of different Fabric Paints in the ColourCraft Store, including Opaque, Pearl finish, Metallic and Fluorescent; they are all intermixable, so you can have great fun creating your own custom colours, or blending the colours on the fabric.

That's all from me for today. Thanks for taking the time to read my post. Don't forget to share your creations in the Create with ColourCraft Facebook Group, we love to see what you create.

Thanks for visiting with us today
Bye for now

Angelina Fibres on a canvas bag

Hi everyone!
I have been MIA for a while but I am back now... sorry for that :)

In August, I went to drop off some of my past projects with Colourcraft at their stand at Quilt Festival - I usually avoid going to busy conventions like this because I'm not a fan of crowds but I have to admit that this one was something else! Not only because of the amazing quilting work that I had the pleasure of seeing but also because I got to have a chat with the Colourcraft people and, most of all, get my hands on some brand new products.

Let me tell you something... they are awesome!!!

Today, I will share with you my canvas pouch with some cool embellishments made using Angelica Fibers. Not that I am blowing my own trumpet but... I have the coolest fruit lunch bag in my department!

When I first saw the small package filled with shine, colourful fiber I was like... what do I do with this? But after a quick demo, my mind was fluttering with ideas!

Here goes:
Choose your stamps, black ink (it's better if it's pretty wet) and your fibres. set your iron on medium heat (Be careful not to melt your stamp with too high setting!!!) and have baking paper ready. Ink the stamp generously and arrange fibres so that they completely cover the design. Cover it with a sheet of baking parchment and iron over until you see the stamp design come through the fabric. Remove the baking parchment and delicately remove the fibres - now melted into a sheet - from the stamp. The result should be as the last pic above shows - the design stamped onto the luminous rainbowy fabric.

Repeat the process for all the stamps you want to use in your project.

Once all your designs are ready, cut them neatly out ready for assemble.
Do not dispose of the leftover fibres - you can use them next time - no waste!!!

You can finish your project here by attaching the elements to your bag. I used spray fabric glue to do it (Crafter's Companion Stick and Stay for fabric is perfect for that).

Or you can do what I did and create a colourful background for the elements.

To do that, I outlined the main element on the bag to know where it would be placed once finished.
I then chose a flowery stencil and with plenty of colourful Opaque Fabric Paints, I added the flower wall over the bag.

Once the paint was completely dry, I attached the fibre elements onto the bag.

Because I wanted to add some dimension to the elements, I attached the butterflies only at their centre so that the wings were sticking out when the bag is filled with my apples and oranges.

The pouch is really fun and so far, everyone who has seen it, asked where I got it from...
I'm sure it's the rainbow sparkles that do it!

See ya next time!

Beach inspired mini bag with Ewelina

What do you get your seaside obsessed mate who has everything already?
The answer is pretty simple - something handmade to make sure she doesn't have it yet! hahaha
Not to spoil the ending but... the idea was a winner! Yay!

I decided to stick to the seaside theme and make a small canvas bag in which she could safely store her beloved planner (obviously it's one with an anchor design on it!).

I dug out one of my mini canvas bags from my stash and a set of Fabric Paints (both Metallic and Opaque).
My stencil of choice was one from FabScraps collection C93 - it has a starfish design on it.

To make sure the stencil stays in place, I used bulldog clips in all four corners (you can never be over-prepared, you know!)

After choosing my colours, I kept dabbing through the stencil until the whole bag was covered in the design.

Once my starfish were dry, I added canvas embellishments (ribbon and flower) as well as some metal studs. Quick, easy and most of all, cute!

Rock on, beach lovers!

HOME - embroidery hoop with Ewelina

Hey everyone!

I want to share with you my latest obsession - embroidery hoops.
I have loads of various types of canvas and burlap and have been creating loads of different projects after stretching them on various size embroidery hoops; some of them are mixed media, some are just fabric, some are painted canvas - just like this one.

To start, I chose the hoop I was going to use and outlined it on the canvas so that I knew what area I was working on. (Make sure you have an eraser ready to later on remove the outline! It took me good 15minutes to find a white eraser which wouldn't leave colourful lines on the fabric... oh, well...)

I attached the canvas to a cardboard to make it easy to stencil on and then attached the stencil where I wanted to add the design. It's important to stop both the fabric and the stencil from moving during the process to avoid smudges and spills.

Rather than using block colours, I tried layering and blending them a bit.

After removing the stencil, the design looked a little bit 'square' so I randomly added some more flowers to build it up.

Now for the hard part (for me) - writing.
I test-wrote the word first and once I was happy with the outcome, I transferred it onto tissue paper. That allowed me to play with the placement on the canvas; once I decided where to add it, I transferred it on to the canvas ready for painting.

I used my old PIGMA BrushPen and black paint to write the word - I find it works better than using regular paint brush.

Now that all the painting was done and dried, it was time to do some stretching...
It's important to aim for the hoop to be where the outline you previously pencilled. Oh, and don't forget to erase it!
Once you're happy with the placement and tension of the fabric, tighten up the hoop and trim off the excess fabric.

Simple but pretty.
You could add some fabric flowers or hand-stitch the wording...I am leaving mine just as it is right now.

See you next time!
