Today is my first blog post for Colourcraft and I am so excited to be sharing my mixed media project which I created with Brushos and Aquawax.
I started by sketching out my head and torso on watercolour paper using some mixed media stencils from Papberbabe stamps.
I then added some aquawax to a small piece of bubble wrap and dabbed it on to the page to add some resist and texture to my project. While this was drying I prepared my brushos, I added a sprinkle of each colour I was using to the posh pallette and added some water, I used Purple, Grey and Prussian blue for the background.
I spritzed the paper with water and added small amounts of each colour with a brush into the wet areas allowing it to bleed out and cover the page.
Where the Aquawax was added the brusho can not settle so you end up with a white area.
I added a sprinkle of brusho crystals in a couple of the wet areas as this adds another texture and pattern to the project. I dried this off with a heat tool and then started to colour the face, hair and body. I used black brusho for the hair and found it was best to use a few coats allowing each to dry before adding the next.
I used Sandstone brusho for the body, and created shadow below the chin and down the neck by using a stronger concentration of the sandstone colour .
Once dry I added the facial features using Paperbabe stamps, inks and a black fine liner pen.
For the whites of the eyes I used a white ink pen, I also added two white dots to each iris to give the effect of sparkle in the eyes.
I had so much fun creating my piece and can't wait to make more projects. Thank you for taking the time to stop by, please feel free to leave comments below and come back for more inspiration for the amazing Design Team here at Colourcraft.
Very effective demonstration about how you can use Brusho in a controlled way :)

DeleteI LOVE LOVE LOVE the results you achieved. I especially am intrigued with the spritzing the purple-blue background, that the hair is so different even with the same products, and the four areas of the large bubble-wrap aqua-wax dots; I also appreciate the way you described your methods to achieve these effects! Great job:)
