Fun Cards with Brusho and Guilding Flakes by Sarah

Hi Everyone,

Sarah here with you today on the blog and I have some fun cards to share with you that combine brusho and gilding flakes

First of all I created some fun backgrounds using various combinations of Brusho crystal colours onto watercolour card.

Next step is to cover your brusho'd background papers with double sided tape, I used 1/4" Scortape

After the tape is fixed down to your background papers give it a good burnish with a bone folder and remove your tape one strip at a time and cover with gilding flake, give it a soft rub to ensure your flake is fully stuck down to the tape then rub gently with a soft cloth to remove the excess, then repeat this process with the rest of the background until you have a full sheet of lovely shimmery stripes

Once I had finished gilding all my backgrounds I chopped out a one inch section from each piece and stuck down the top and bottom section to a kraft card base, ready for sentiments to be stamped in the centres...

Once all the sentiments were stamped, I started to colour up some mulberry flowers with Brusho to match the cards..

I glued down all the flowers and buttons to the card fronts which adds a nice finishing touch to these fun brusho and flake cards

I hope you enjoyed these cards, it is so much fun to add gilding flake to cards (i bet we all have a tub of it  tucked away in our craft rooms somewhere ;) I hope this gives you some inspiration to dig them out and use them..

Let us know if you make any and share them with us, we would love to see them!

Take Care.... Sarah x
