Mixed Media Paper Bag Art by Sarah Allan

Hi Everyone!

Hope you are all well and looking forward to spring?  ... it seems like it has been such a long winter this year, and I know I am certainly looking forward to warmer weather and spring flowers..

My project for you today is spring inspired... spring leaves and flowers using lovely greens and yellows..with a hint of pink

For this project I  used Brusho crystal colours, I love these little pots of powders.. they can be used for so many things.. I also used lutradur, expandit and brusho sprays for the leaves.


You can pick up these paper bags from most supermarkets and pound shops they are relatively inexpensive and make a great canvas for your art


I also used a 12 x 12 sheet of paper from 49 Market as it had quite a lot of ephemera pieces on it and I was able to cut these apart and use for the background.


I used Lutradur and expandit for the leaves...they give you so much texture!.. then sprayed with the Brusho Acrylic sprays, they are fun to make, you just diecut them out with a leaf die when finished.


in addition to the Colourcraft products that i used ... I also used matte medium to stick everything down and white gesso to dry brush over the top of my inks and sprays to give a muted colour effect.


I also used the Rubber Dance Stamp set Whimsical Summer and stamped around the edges in Grey archival ink..
